Clinical and Direct Service Positions

DIRECTOR OF NURSING:  This full time position provides supervision, leadership, resource management, and facilitates team decision-making for the nursing team at Heritage. The successful candidate will have a minimum 2 years supervisory experience in the health care field, a State of Illinois Registered Nursing License, Bachelors degree in nursing or health related field, and experience in behavioral health (psychiatric services or a substance abuse setting). The position requires staff selection and training, ongoing supervision, program development and implementation, budget development and monitoring, and compliance with funding guidelines. Coordination of client admissions, discharges and care while in the program is a daily expectation.

CRISIS INTERVENTIONIST:  Full time position is responsible for crisis intervention, counseling, case management, client-centered consultation, etc. on the agency’s residential/detoxification/crisis units. Bachelor’s degree in social service field required; prior experience working with both mentally ill and substance abusing individuals highly recommended.

ADDICTIONS THERAPIST - COMMUNITIES FOR YOUTH:  Full time position provides substance abuse counseling to adolescents in the agency’s Communities for Youth program. Masters degree in social service field, as well as experience with both substance abusing and mentally ill individuals, is highly desired. Certification or licensure is required within two years of employment.

OUTPATIENT THERAPIST:  Full time position available providing crisis intervention, assessment, counseling, case management, client-centered consultation, etc. Masters degree in social service field, plus certification/licensure within 2 years required; prior experience working with both mentally ill and substance abusing individuals highly recommended.

COMMUNITY SUPPORT SPECIALIST(S):  Full time positions provide a full array of case management services to the seriously and persistently mentally ill population. Current vacancies exist at Heritage Fields, Lindwood, and in our central case management office. Bachelor’s degree in related field required. Previous experience working with the mentally ill or substance abusing populations is highly required.

ASSESSMENT THERAPIST:  Full time position provides intake screening, crisis intervention, assessment, counseling, case management, client-centered consultation, etc. Masters degree in social service field, plus certification/licensure within 2 years required; prior experience working with both mentally ill and substance abusing individuals highly recommended.

PREVENTION SPECIALIST:  Full time position provides substance abuse prevention/education activities with youth and their families. Responsibilities may include outreach, advocacy, youth education and recreational activities, and parent training services. Bachelor’s degree in human service field or five years experience in a social service setting is preferred.

LAW ENFORCEMENT CENTER COUNSELOR:  Full time position (afternoon and evening hours) is now available providing services on-site at the Macon County Law Enforcement Center. Specific duties include suicide risk assessment and intervention; mental health assessments and recommendations for treatment, and crisis counseling. Master’s degree in human service field highly recommended; minimum Bachelor’s degree plus at least five years of direct service delivery in the mental health field will be considered.

CHILD/ADOLESCENT THERAPIST:  This full time position will provide services to children/adolescents experiencing emotional or behavioral problems, generally delivered in an outpatient or community setting. Masters degree in social service related field required.

LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE:  Full time position available providing medication administration, medication monitoring and ordering, as well as paraprofessional counseling in the agency’s 24 hour substance abuse residential programs. State of Illinois LPN licensure, plus the flexibility to work with both mentally ill and substance abusing individuals, is required.

OUTREACH POSITION:  This part-time position (M-F 2pm-6pm daily) will provide outreach, case management and transportation for customers involved in the Community ACCESS program. Bachelor’s degree preferred; experience working with mentally ill and substance abusing adolescents highly recommended.

Administrative/Clerical Positions

TEAM LEADER, CLERICAL SERVICES:  This full time position provides supervision, leadership, resource management, and facilitates team decision-making for the clerical team at Heritage. The successful candidate will have previous supervisory experience in Medical Office Management, which must include an extensive and SUCCESSFUL history in patient collections. He/she will be the poster child for exceptional customer service, be energetic and creative, able to work independently, possess good organizational and communication skills, and have the ability to problem solve in a team setting. This individual will be at the forefront in leading the clerical team as it implements new and innovative strategies to make the team one of Heritage's most valuable assets. Candidate must portray a calm and patient demeanor, be flexible to new ideas, and be able to work with a variety of individual personalities, both internally and externally. Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred. Previous supervisory experience in a nonprofit/social service environment or experience in medical records management a plus.

JANITORIAL SUPERVISOR:  This NEW full time position (12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. M-F) will primarily provide oversight of evening janitorial staff in an approximately 60,000 square foot building. Additional duties will include daytime cleaning, special projects, supply distribution, etc. Experience with training and supervision of janitorial staff in chemical and cleaning methods is required. High school diploma or equivalent is required; supervisory experience highly recommended.

All Heritage positions require a valid driver’s license, proof of automobile insurance, and reliable means of transportation. In addition, criminal and DCFS background checks, and pre-employment drug test are required prior to employment.
